Etymology

From Colombian Spanish basuco, perhaps related to Spanish bazucar (“to shake violently”) or basura (“waste, trash”), or, alternatively, from English bazooka (“rocket launcher”), presumably because of the drug’s explosive effect. Doublet of bazooka (“crack cocaine”).
