From Latin Cȳrēnaicus, from Ancient Greek Κῡρηνᾰῐ̈κός (Kūrēnăĭ̈kós), from Κυρήνη (Kurḗnē, “Cyrene”) + -ικός (-ikós, “-ic”, adjective-forming suffix). Equivalent to Cyrene + -ic or a backformation from Cyrenaica.
