History
Etymology
Borrowed from Japanese 同(どう)人(じん)誌(し) (dōjinshi, “fan-produced manga or essay booklets”), from 同(どう)人(じん) (dōjin, “group for the same interest”) + 誌(し) (shi, “magazine or a pamphlet”). The spelling is derived from the informal wāpuro rōmaji romanization style of 同人 (どうじん, do-u-ji-n).
