Meaning 1

A measure of the health of one's stack: the stack divided by the sum of the small blind, the big blind and the antes of each player. The result (M) is the time (the number of orbits) it would take for one's chips to deplete if the player only passively places their forced bets and otherwise folds.

Usage: uncountable

Topics: card-games, poker

Examples

  • M=(mbox stack)/(mbox smallblind+ mbox bigblind+ mbox totalantes)
  • A player in an eight-player game with blinds of $50/$100, an ante of $10, and a stack of $2,300 has an M-ratio of 10. It would take 10 orbits for their chips to deplete if they only fold each time.
