Borrowed from Japanese おいちょかぶ (oicho-kabu). Compound of オイチョ (oicho, “the 8 card”) + カブ (kabu, “the 9 card”), borrowed from Portuguese oito (“eight”) and Portuguese cabo (“end”, for being the highest card) respectively.
