From Mandarin 散打 (sǎndǎ).

Borrowed from Hindi सांडा (sāṇḍā).

Ultimately from Sanskrit षण्ढ (ṣaṇḍha, “eunuch, hermaphrodite”), which is often conflated with साण्ड (sāṇḍa, “bull”) in New Indo-Aryan languages due to sound change.
