Privateers
Several French privateers also bore the name. *Mars (1746), involved in the Skirmish of Loch nan Uamh on 2 May 1746 during the Jacobite rising and was captured by off Cape Clear in 1747. *Mars (1798), captured by on 31 March 1800 and taken into service as and served on the Jamaica Station. She was wrecked in 1803, upon Caracole reef off Cap François.
